Sequential Art is the art of telling stories via a sequence of images.
Before there were letters and spoken languages there was Sequential Art. Cave people started it all by scratching their stories in the dirt and painting their legendary tales with various stains on cave walls using thier fingers or sticks. Recognizable characters (animals and stick-figure people) became the basis for the written languages we are familiar with today.
Despite the evolution of stick figures into written language, Sequential Art prevails in the form of Newspaper Comic Strips, Comic books and Graphic Novels to name just a few of the most popular forms.
In this class, concentration will be on the creation of Comic Strips and Full Page Comic Book Style boards. We will also discuss comic history and the impact of computers on the creation of comics.
Classroom Environment: We'll be working in a spacious, well lit, comfortable room.
Parents can either drop-off or relax, wait and have a cup of coffee/tea in the adjoining room.
Creative minds work better with music playing, so there will be different styles of non-distracting music playing during each session.
